Giovanni Scagnoli unconsciously feels the need to realise biomorphic forms – vulva, seed, shell – and to create natural paths to interact with them. Aforismi comes from primigenial ovaloid forms able to develop their own intrinsic life, which, by analogy, is linked to that at the basis of nature. Scagnoli’s artwork interacts with nature, thus becoming an emblem of the artist’s unconscious creativity. The mouth, the female genitals – l’origine du monde – and the seed are at the origin of the natural and surreal dimension that hosts the hortus conclusus.
